I think Income tax in India should be completely abolished. The main ill-effect of income tax is it permanantises the colour of the money as black. For example - The money earned out of say corruption, ill-moral or ill-legal activities or smuggling or indirect tax suppression etc. can be brought in the main stream. under different legal sources but the fear of Income Tax does not motivate people to convert the money into white.
